Saffron is a spice derived from the flower of Crocus sativus, commonly known as the “saffron crocus”. Due to its rarity and distinct flavor, it is one of the most expensive spices in the world. In fact, it is sometimes referred to as “red gold.” It can be found in early spring, like in March at TIGR trail.
